It’s a challenging 9 hole, 3,030 yard scenic course…and as you keep you eye on the ball, you may also spot deer, wildflowers, perhaps moose. Superior National Golf Course in Lutsen is a 27 hole, 6,300 yard course that winds through the Poplar River Valley, wraps itself around expanses of forest and opens onto breathtaking Lake Superior vistas. It’s an exciting challenge and loaded with Northwoods beauty. Several local lodging facilities are participating in the “Stay and Play” packages, which offers golfers to play 9, 18 or all 27 holes at attractive prices. Grand Marais Golf’n’Stuff features a full 18 hole miniature golf course, the best in Minnesota. After a few rounds, go for the arcade games, snack and beverages. TennisGrand Marais has the finest tennis complex on the North Shore - five courts, all in great shape, three lit for evening play.Bring your raquet! The Cook County Tennis Association, programs, classes, tournaments and courts are open to you. Their schedule of events begins in April and runs into September – but the windscreens don’t come down until October! Enjoy the courts, located at the Cook County High School, W. 5th St. and W. 2nd Ave., just five blocks from Lake Superior.
