Visit Grand Marais, Minnesota

Only in Grand Marais, Minnesota Lighthouse on Lake Superior otter/fish market
A cop gave us the bird...
back.

Seriously. Acting on an anonymous tip, Pine County Sheriff’s Deputy Dan Kunz retrieved and returned our famous gull, Flip, who had been trapped in an area basement. (We swear this is true.) Said Flip, “I just want to go home, grab a bite at the Angry Trout, and hang out in the harbor.” Read the official news release (pdf).
The Bird is back!

“We didn’t really expect to get the bird, but we’re glad he’s back,” said Diane Brostrom, Director of Grand Marais Tourism.
Thank you to all who helped give us the bird! — Stay tuned for contest winner!
